Vacations are nice

Its incredible. In the last 3 weeks I have been vegging out, watching a ton of TV, seen more movies than I can recall, visited a bunch of friends, hosted a New Years party, and read more than books than in the 3 months prior. I seem to be incredibly "productive" when I don't have to go to work ;-)

I saw Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Peter Pan, and Paycheck. I had high expectations for LotR:RotK, and was not disappointed. There were some scenes I had wished then had left in, but it was a lot of fun, if a little long. I really enjoyed Peter Pan. It was thematically very close to the book (much more so than that abomination that Disney made). Now I need to go and reread the books. Paycheck had enough plot holes that if it were a garment made out of plot it would be in tattered pieces on the side of the road.

New Years was great. I made caramel chocolate brownies which were a hit (people asked for the recipe), and Ben made (with a little assisstance from me) a Brown Lamb Chili/Hungarian stew for dinner, which was also very good. We played a bunch of DDR as well as some Mario Kart, Frequency, and F-Zero. There only 9 of us, so we ended up driving to Penn's Landing to watch the fireworks. I have never gone to Penn's Landing for New Years before, and the fireworks were spectacular.

Well, I have to pack. Back to the West Coast tomorrow, and work on Monday...
